Graduated from the Art Institute of Las Vegas back in September, the 25th. Before the ceremony, there was a portfolio show. Met up with some of the industry professionals that are local. Since there weren`t so many, wonder if its a sign to how slow it is in Las Vegas. Besides the recession we are in, and the competition with others who have been in the business longer.

With graduation comes the job searching, though between my background that not only includes my college degree, it also includes my internships and military background also. Finding one local that fully fits me maybe the hardest part, but finding many close match job`s to any skill set I posses will not be so difficult.

I`m still doing work with SPI III industries, as an Environment Artist. I modeled out the inside floors of a 6 floor apartment, with 2 staircases, supply closets, elevators and the elevator shaft, along with a janitor`s room and electrical room. Moving them into Cryengine 3, fully textured, using diffuse maps, normal maps, spec maps, parralax maps, and glow maps using the alpha channel to help setup lighting.

Time goes by when your busy. Since my last post, worked on my demo reel, did a short reserve military training in North Island, learned to use UE4, CryEngine 3, and Unity3d some more, and started working with SPI III Industries for my internship.

I`m about to get back with my work for Gradus Games Entertainment, couldn`t give enough time for the art department, to learn a painting style similar to Dota 2. Probably not a big surprise, lack of time, and no training or experience with trying to match an art style is usually not gonna happen without time to do so.

For my internship work with SPI III, I`m an Environment Artist. I`m modeling assets inside Maya, and bringing them into the CryEngine 3. Besides more time spent on being able to bring assets from Max or Maya into CryEngine 3, I would have to say, once inside, even with the lighting being limited to the sun light, point lights, and area lights, it`s real time rendering is better then Unreal 4`s. I`m currently modeling and texturing a college dorm area, focusing on the hallways, supply closets, janitor rooms, electrical rooms, elevator and elevator shaft, and a public access staircase and the maintenance staircase along with most of the props it would need. Might even get the scenes, using crytek`s first shooter asset, to use as a playable game people can easily explore thru on my graduation showcase.

With my college, I`m going to graduate soon, September 25th.  My Demo Reel is done, the website just need`s a final few updates, and since I`m using wix to make it, I just need to get it connected to the my yahoo host domain to get it online.

Just created my blogger, more is to come, more will be added.

To start off with, I`m going back to the Art Institute in Las Vegas, after 16 months of being deployed to Kuwait. Hot, sandy and shitty are words that come to mind about that place.

I`m also working with a indy game developer that just started in Las Vegas. I was brought in to teach their programmers how to use unity, but have since done some 3D work and currently working with the programmers get the coding done.

Even working with Cutco again, making sales unlike the last time I worked with them in 08 or 09, can`t remember the year.... but anyways, since I`m the type of person who tries to improve things as I see them, and back then I didn`t control that urge, I made no sales.
